Extended ODF support in Office 2007Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
02/06/2008
Microsoft Office 2007 will get native support for ODF with the release of Office 2007 Service Pack 2 early next year. You can already save files from Office 2007 in 20 different formats, including Office Open XML, Office 2003 format and PDF. The aim is to improve interoperability between different file formats - making publishing a lot more accessible. What this change means is that as you can now choose to 'save as PDF' if you have the plugin, early next year you'll be able to choose a 'save as ODF' plug-in. For more information, visit the Microsoft Press Pass page.

Creative Commons Licence plug-ins for Office 2007Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
26/08/2008
Microsoft has released an add-in for creating Creative Commons Licences for documents created within its Office 2007 suite of products.
This add-in for Microsoft Office Word 2007, Office PowerPoint 2007, and Office Excel 2007 enables individuals to embed a Creative Commons licence directly into their Microsoft Office documents. The add-in allows an author of a Microsoft Office document to choose a Creative Commons licence from those available on the Creative Commons Web site (by using the Creative Commons Web service). The embedded licence links directly to its online representation on the Creative Commons website while a machine-readable representation is stored in the Office Open XML document. By using Creative Commons licences, you can express your intentions regarding how others may use your work.
